Overview

Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking a Director of Clinical Education to join their team. The Director of Clinical Education is responsible for overseeing and managing the clinical education programs at Presbyterian Homes & Services. This position collaborates with academic institutions, clinical departments, and other stakeholders to align clinical education programs with organizational goals and regulatory requirements so that employees are fully equipped to provide service excellence to our residents. The Director of Clinical Education also leads a team of educators responsible for training and in-service programs, ensuring clinical leaders and staff remain certified and proficient in providing high quality care.

 

The Director of Clinical Education reports to the Vice President of Clinical Services.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Design, implement, and manage clinical education programs in alignment with PHS goals and focus areas, beginning at orientation and embedded throughout all educational offerings.
  • Perform needs analysis with PHS leaders on certification, regulatory and compliance needs, and professional growth, and direct the development of curriculum and delivery systems to meet those needs.
  •  Ensure all programs meet accreditation standards and Federal and State regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions and clinical departments to ensure quality clinical placements and training experiences, and serve as the point of partnership with area healthcare schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Oversee the development of curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment tools, translating clinical technical competencies into practical training content.
  • Lead annual clinical strategic planning of educational offerings with the PHS Corporate Clinical Team and Optage Home Care and Hospice, using survey, QA/QI, QAPI, KRA, and VA outcomes to guide planning.
  •  Leverage the learning management system (Relias) and other learning technology, and benchmark best practices inside and outside of healthcare.
  • Coordinate and deliver train-the-trainer sessions as appropriate.
  • Hire, train, lead, and evaluate the team of Clinical Educators, including development and coaching plans, payroll approval, and related HR functions.
  • Support the integration of Christian culture through communication and education systems, and demonstrate good stewardship of available resources. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Adult Education, Health Care Administration, or Nursing required; Master's preferred, with experience leading teams.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure required.
  • 5-7 years of clinical leadership experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience with clinical education or curriculum development.
  • Experience in curriculum development, program management, and accreditation processes.
  • Experience with technology-based instruction.
  • Demonstrated competency in teaching and applying the principles of adult learning.
  • Willingness to work and travel to more than one PHS location (Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common computer programs.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS' mission and operating philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.

Pay Range

The estimated starting pay range for this role is $89,793.60 to $112,257.60 yearly. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
