Optage Meals, a division of Presbyterian Homes & Services, is seeking a qualified culinary professional for the Food Production Supervisor to join their team.The Food Production Supervisor leads production staff, monitors workflow, supports adherence to food safety regulations including HACCP, OSHA, and USDA requirements, and works closely with procurement, quality control, and distribution teams to meet operational demands.  You’ll lead and support production staff, uphold food safety and operational standards, and help create an efficient and positive kitchen environment.

 

Responsibilities

The Food Production Supervisor leads daily food production operations in a way that promotes quality, safety, efficiency, and service excellence. This role oversees production team members, coordinates workflow, and helps ensure food is prepared consistently and in compliance with applicable food safety and sanitation standards.  

 

Key Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Plan and manage production schedules to meet deadlines, minimize waste, and optimize labor and resource utilization. 
  • Supervise and coordinate production staff by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and feedback to improve efficiency and consistency. 
  • Train employees on proper food handling, sanitation, recipe adherence, and safety procedures, with particular attention to onboarding and skill development for new hires. 
  • Maintain production records, including quantities produced, ingredient usage, and waste data, to support reporting, planning, and analysis. 

Qualifications

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school or equivalent education.  
  • Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) required. 
  • Prior experience in food production, health care, or hospitality operations required.  
  • Experience with standardized recipes, inventory management, and employee supervision strongly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of state and federal food-handling and kitchen regulations (Serve Safe Certification).  
  • Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.  
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional partners, and support a consistent, high-quality production environment 
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers. 

Pay Range

The estimated starting pay range for this role is $25.46-$27.41 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
