Overview

Presbyterian Homes & Services - Flagstone in Eden Prairie is seeking a Nutrition and Culinary Services Assistant Director to join our team.  The Nutrition & Culinary Services Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Director in planning, organizing, developing, evaluating and effectively directing the Nutrition & Culinary Services staff and program in order to ensure the delivery of high quality customer meals and dining services consistent with regulations and established best practices.

 

SCHEDULE/HOURS:  40 hours/week. Mon-Friday including working every other weekend with a rotating holiday schedule. Hours are from 11:00am-7:30pm.

 

 

REPORTING STRUCTURE: The Nutrition & Culinary Services Assistant Director reports to the Nutrition & Culinary Services Director. The Nutrition & Culinary Services Assistant Director directly supervises Supervisors, Cooks/Chefs, Servers and Lead Servers as designated at the site.

Responsibilities

The Nutrition & Culinary Services Assistant Director has responsibility as a member of the site leadership team to assist in the planning and implementation of strategies and programming that assure high quality customer meals while achieving short and long-term operational goals and objectives for the site.
• Assist in overseeing the meal preparation and service based on established menus, regulations, established policies, procedures and best practices. 
• Assist with the meal process as necessary. 
• Regularly solicit customer feedback and incorporate solutions regarding the quality and satisfaction with meals served into meal and service planning. 
• Assist with menu planning. 
• Assist in developing menus and recipes. 
• Maintain and monitor accurate meal documentation records per established procedures. 
• Establish and maintain effective communication systems with all customers.

Qualifications

  1. Current Certified Dietary Manager Credentials or graduate of an accredited course or 3 years supervisory food service experience. Current Food Safety Certification.
  2. Three years experience in a restaurant, health care or senior services setting. Experience in special event planning.
  3. Demonstrated competencies in food service management and operations, quality management, staff development, cooking, and clinical nutrition for the elderly.
  4. Must have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, coworkers, family members, visitors, and the general public.
  5. Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
  6. Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.

Pay Range

The estimated starting pay range for this role is $22.12 - $27.65 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
