As a Leave Administrator at Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS), you’ll play a vital role in supporting the well-being of over 8,000 employees across three states (MN, IA and WI). This high-impact position manages a high volume of medical and family leaves, ensuring each employee receives compassionate, knowledgeable, and timely guidance through every stage of their leave journey.

 

You’ll be the go-to expert for Minnesota Paid Leave (MPL), FMLA, and medical leaves, coordinating with HR, Benefits, Payroll, and Employee Health to provide seamless, end-to-end support. From helping an employee plan their leave, to coordinating supplemental pay and benefits, to guiding their return to work — you’ll make a direct difference in people’s lives every day.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Roseville, MN (not remote or hybrid).

 

Responsibilities

The Leave Administrator is responsible for by providing compassionate, high-touch coordination of all medical and family employee leave programs. This role is responsible for the end-to-end administration of federal, state, and PHS-sponsored medical and family leave programs, including FMLA, Minnesota Paid Leave (MPL), medical leaves of absence, and related supplemental pay, benefits and return to work coordination. The Leave Administrator ensures employees receive timely communication, accurate processing, and strong support before, during, and after their leave.

 

Key Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Ensure efficient handling of all FMLA and Medical leaves. Work with PHS sites to support their needs. Influence and manage expectations that foster embedment of current FMLA and Medical Leave policies which will lead to consistent and simplified policies/processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees throughout the entire leave lifecycle—from initial inquiry through return-to-work or closure. Act as liaison between Site Human Resources, supervisors, Employee Health, Corporate HR and employees on FMLA and Medical Leave issues.
  • Coordinate federal, state, and employer leave programs, including PFML, FMLA, medical leaves, and personal leaves.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant experience and/or certification in specialized HR function may be substituted for degree, when appropriate.
  • Demonstrated successful previous Leave Management experience required.
  • Experience with FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, Paid Leave programs, and related employment laws required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-touch employee service with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
  • Effective prioritization, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms and leave management technology platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS’ mission and operating philosophies.

Pay Range

The estimated starting pay range for this role is $23.88 - $29.84 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends on many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.

Full-time benefits-eligible employment begins at a minimum of 30 hours per week:
