Overview

Optage Meals, a division of Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking an Optage Delivery Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities

The Optage Meals Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of meal delivery services, ensuring the efficient coordination of drivers and packers to meet service quality standards and delivery timelines. This role focuses on maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, optimizing delivery routes, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Meals Delivery Manager provides leadership and support to the team, fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration, and implements process improvements to enhance service efficiency and reliability.

 

Key Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Manage Home Delivered Meals department from packing to delivery; Monitor efficiencies on packing line, completes Quality Assurance Checks; Manage packing process to ensure quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage daily activities and route assignments of the Drivers, both employees and volunteers; which include but not limited to Home Delivered Meals Routes, PHS Cook Chill, Congregate, and Courier Deliveries; Communicate daily with drivers as needs arise for duties and equipment needed to complete routes.
  • Oversee the brand image and cleanliness of fleet vehicles to ensure they properly represent Optage/PHS standards. Regularly inspect vehicles to confirm that emergency systems are in safe operating condition, addressing any issues promptly. Report unsafe conditions to the Director/Manager immediately and document all accidents or incidents following established protocols, notifying the Home Delivered Meals (HDM) and Transportation Director as well as the Engineering & Fleet Manager using established best practices.
  • Manage assigned staff to achieve desired outcomes at the individual team member level as well as at the collective function level. Collaborate with Employee Health, Human Resources and other corporate departments to manage staff questions/concerns as necessary.
  • Manage the performance management process (recruitment, selection, orientation, supervision, evaluation and termination) for your direct reports that achieves desired outcomes and encourages individual development. Ensure an effective performance management system is in place for direct reports.
  • Implement established office policies, procedures, and practices. Ensure policies and procedures are understood and implemented by assigned staff. Use quality management process to meet the needs of clients, staff and clinical services in the community. Work interdependently to problem solve and handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Maintain monitoring systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulations and established office best practices. Use discretion and independent judgement to compare and evaluate course of action and decision making. Apply the knowledge and skills needed for the position including technical competency in the office setting and maintain knowledge of organization and industry policies and practices.
  • Create and maintain a work environment for employees that are conducive to high productivity

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Food Service Management or related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current Class D driver’s license.
  • Previous supervisory experience, as well as driving experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and direct the workflow of departments and staff daily.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and self-direction skills.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance to ensure the excellent and safe operation of the vehicle, troubleshoot problems, and hold self and employees accountable.
  • Must have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with clients, coworkers, family members, visitors, and the general public.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS’ mission and operating philosophies.

$58,656-$68,307
