Overview

Presbyterian Homes & Services  is seeking a Housing Counselor to join its team.  The Housing Counselor represents Presbyterian Homes & Services and its operating entities to the community at large in relation to the sales and marketing goals of the organization. This position leads all sales activities to help prospective residents and their representatives navigate our various senior living services and options.

 

REPORTING STRUCTURE: The Housing Counselor reports to the Site Leader. This position will also take direction from and coordinate efforts with PHS Sales and Marketing.

Salary:  $28 / hour to start; depending on qualifications and experience

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the development and execution of marketing strategies and plan for the site under the direction of site leadership and in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Director.
    • Successfully target the necessary audiences and to implement plans to reach those audiences in relation to the marketing goals set for the site.
    • Plan a community networking program which will include scheduled meetings and presentations with appropriate community leaders and groups to present the services of the project.
    • Act as the primary on-site sales and marketing representative for the site.
    • Provide information about service availability, packages, pricing, financial assistance, and related information to all inquiries.
    • Respond to calls and inquiries, conduct tours and provide information, advice, support and assistance to prospective customers during their decision making process.
    • Maintain accurate records of inquiry and lead tracking, follow up, waiting list management etc. through the designated, computerized lead management system.
    • Coordinate marketing processes with site staff per established timeframes.
    • Assist residents and their representatives with all preadmission procedures including completing reservation and entrance deposit agreements and communicating marketing and admission information in a timely manner to all customers.
    • Ensure a smooth transition of admissions processes to site staff per established timeframes.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM Qualifications
  1. College degree in social work, gerontology, marketing, human services or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience in senior housing, service, or health care related environment.
  3. Sales experience preferred.
  4. Must understand the basic principles of sales and marketing.
  5. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  6. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  7. Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
  8. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  9. Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and other common computer programs. Must be experienced and able to use customer relation management (CRM) software.
  10. Must be a team player, willing to take direction and accept responsibility for meeting specified objectives.
  11. Must have flexibility with periodic weekend or later hours, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with prospective customers, residents, family members and representatives, coworkers, visitors, and the public.
  12. Demonstrated compatibility with PHS’ mission and operating philosophies.
