Presbyterian Homes & Services - Prairie Gate in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to join our team. The Health Unit Coordinator will provide administrative support to clinical operations in non-nursing resident care activities at nursing stations, or households. Areas of support include data entry, scheduling, maintenance of resident charts, records, maintaining/ordering supplies and coordination of resident external appointments.
Schedule: This position works days, Monday-Friday
Reporting Structure: The Health Unit Coordinator reports to the Clinical Administrator.
ABOUT THIS COMMUNITY
The sprawling, multi-wing Prairie Gate complex is being built on 17.5 acres.
Prairie Gate will offer a full continuum of care for up to 150 residents. It will include 36 independent living apartments, 24 assisted living apartments, 18 memory care apartments and 72 skilled nursing suites.
At the heart of the community will be the two-story 21,000 square foot Town Center offering an array of amenities and services, including community gathering spaces, restaurant-style dining, a bistro, salon, library, club room, business office, guest suite, chapel and wellness center with aerobics studio. Outdoor pathways, prairie plantings, gardens and a courtyard will be just outside the doors in a beautiful patio setting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide administrative support to clinical operations in non-nursing resident care activities at nursing stations, or households in a professional and timely manner.
• Process forms for admissions, readmissions, discharges and resident transfers.
• Schedule resident medical and other appointments, labs and x-rays, arrange for resident transportation, complete outpatient and necessary forms, transcribe physician's orders by computer or manually, maintain resident medical records.
• Manage the nursing supplies and equipment of the household.
