    Presbyterian Homes & Services, Management & Services division is seeking a Full-Time Employee Health Nurse (RN) to join its team. 

     

     

    Responsibilities

    The Employee Health Services function at Presbyterian Homes  is responsible for performing pre-employment health assessments, evaluating/assessing injured/ill employees, managing worker’s compensation claims, managing Family/Medical Leave process for eligible employees, managing return to work processes,  and acting as technical resource for employee safety or health issues.

     

    This full-time position will serve as a member of the Employee Health Services team, with a primary focus on workers’ compensation case management, responsible for but not limited to:

    • Ensuring early identification and treatment of injured employees, accurate injury and illness investigation, analysis and recording.
    • Early Return to Work following work related injuries or illnesses, establishment and implementation of Temporary Modified Duty during recovery from work related injuries and effective communication and coordination to promptly return injured employees to regular duty.
    • Serving as the case manager for occupational injuries and illnesses. Completing necessary documentation in a timely manner, and communicating between employee, employer, insurer and medical care provider on the status of the claim until it is resolved.
    • Coordinating follow-up medical care, and forwarding medical bills to the insurer for determination of payment.
    • Working with managers to establish modified duties with the medical plan of care to minimize lost time exposure; Initiating claims reviews with the insurer, and advising leadership claim status and exposure.
    • Maintaining the OSHA log on all work-related illness or injuries for designated sites.
    • Maintaining employee health records in compliance with applicable regulations/laws.
    • Assisting sites to implement health and safety standards, serving as member and technical resource for respective Safety Committees. Participating in meetings as requested to provide updates on status of employee health and safety issues and trending.

    Qualifications

    • Registered Nurse with current licensure in state(s) of designated facilities. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years successful experience as a Registered Nurse in occupational health, acute care, long term care or related, preferably in an occupational health nurse or nurse management role.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the employees served at designated sites.
    • Previous experience and demonstrated knowledge in Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, ADA and disability laws, employee assessment, DOT, OSHA, and occupational health nursing functions. Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse preferred. Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in each area.
    • High interpersonal, assessment, communication, and negotiation (both oral and written) skills required. Must be effective at handling sensitive medicaland confidential information.
    • Strength in independent decision making, problem solving, and follow through required.
    • Excellent in influencing, consulting, and networking skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously and to identify and resolve exceptions and to interpret data.
    • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
